A well maintained  library exists in PIO containing approx 1800 books related to ophthalmology and  other subjects. Library was inaugurated in March 1999 and is dedicated to Prof.  Raja Mumtaz, first Chief Consultant of AlShifa Trust and Dean PIO. Apart from  books there are approx 450 medical journals available in the Library. It is a  reference library and books etc are not issued to students. Library is also  opened in the evening for the students.
